Carre Gallery currently has a mixed exhibition of work from various Lincolnshire artists which includes work presented especially for this event.

Group exhibitions always show an interesting variety of views of the world from different perspectives in different media.  The inspiration to create work can come from any source, sometimes unexpected.

Carre Gallery regular, May Jones, is exhibiting work inspired by a new feline arrival whose intriguing behaviour has become a new subject.  May uses a variety of materials overlaid with acrylic paint to create a tactile and colourful work.

Lincoln-based painter Phil Bowman has included ‘Study for Michaels Garden’ a vibrant and stimulating work in Gouache.  Phil explains, “I love the chalky quality of gouache and the fact that you can work light on dark and re-wet and move the medium about”.

The Carre is proud that professional and non-professional artists have the opportunity to display their work side by side to the delight of the viewing public.

The October Mixed Exhibition runs until 23 October.  Monday to Friday 10 am – 4 pm.  Entry is free; come and take a look.  All work is available to purchase but we are happy for you to just look and admire.
