Once again Carre Gallery hosts a mixed exhibition of work from Lincolnshire artists which includes some three dimensional ceramics from Barbara and Steve Leaning of the End Room in Newton.  The main thrust of our exhibition is, of course, wall art and we have a nice mix of media; textile, oil, watercolour, pastel, gouache and photography.  Come and take a look.  Exhibition runs until 20 November.

Gallery Volunteers get together:-

On Saturday afternoon (06 Nov) the gallery was buzzing  with an informal gathering of volunteers drinking tea, eating cake and chatting.   As most of our volunteers sit in the gallery for half-day (3 hrs) sessions they only meet the people they encounter at handovers, so this was a good opportunity to meet some of the others.  Our volunteers are an essential part of the structure allowing the gallery to remain open six days a week as there is no full-time gallery staff.  We are very grateful for their time, energy and input; God bless ’em.

Coming Up:-

After the November Mixed exhibition we look forward to a joint exhibition from Lyn Lovitt and Jana Siebers from 22 November to 04 December.   Lyn has recently held a successful solo exhibition at the Sam Scorer Gallery in Lincoln while regular readers will remember that Jana won Best in Show at the Carre Summer Exhibition (scroll down to see Jana’s winning piece).  More info about forthcoming exhibitions on the Carre Gallery Website
