Art by David Truman

Lincolnshire-born David Truman was greatly influenced in his early years by his uncle.  “My Uncle Michael spent much of his spare time producing excellent oil paintings of horses and gave me great encouragement when I started to show an interest in painting.  My earliest recollection of serious painting was at the age of 9 when I completed a landscape in oils depicting a view across the Wye Valley.”

On leaving school David studied Art and History of Art.  “Although I graduated from this course I felt it would be wiser to follow a more commercial route so I completed a three-year course in visual communication to become a fully-qualified Graphic Designer”

“I have now returned to my real passion of painting.”

The exhibition is open every day 10 am – 4 pm from Mon  05 September until Sat 10 September 2011.  David will be working in the gallery on Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday during his exhibition.
