Sleaford Art Event 2016

March 28, 2016

LeeHerring_600Once again Carre Gallery welcomes the Sleaford Art Event. This year there are 51 exhibits by 31 exhibitors. Five of the entries are from St Georges Academy students – Elliot Wheatley, Emily Collins, Amber Copeland, Leah Cox, and Molly Blunt. The exhibitors have used a variety of media including pastel, gouache, oil, acrylic, watercolour, mixed media, pencil, collage, coloured pencil, and dry point print. Subject matter includes landscapes, portraits, animals, still life, and flowers.

On Monday four artists took part in the Art Challenge. This year’s  challenge was to paint a life model; the artists used a variety of media and techniques. The results of the challenge are displayed in the Candlesby Room (to the rear of the gallery) and we invite visitors to vote for their favourite.  Visitors can also vote for their favourite exhibit using the voting slips provided.
