Sleaford and District Civic Trust 2018 Photography Competition

OTT Preview 29 500

Carre Gallery’s new photography exhibition opened on Monday 18th June with an evening preview of entries for the Civic trust’s annual photography competition. Exhibits depict scenes from the various walking trails in and around the town, with photographers competing for cash and other prizes in different age groups. The theme for the competition and exhibition was inspired by development of the Civic Trust’s new audio visual Heritage Trail which joins the ‘When in Sleaford’, Navigation and other established touring routes that celebrate Sleaford’s natural, cultural and built heritage.

OTTPreviewMix_500Garry Titmus, chairman of Sleaford and District Civic Trust said “ Last year’s ‘Hidden in plain sight’ photography competition was such a success that we decided to make this an annual event. We have been encouraged by generous support from the Sleaford Town Councillor’s Fund and artsNK. The quality of exhibits is again of a high standard and identifies many interesting and some unusual features of the town which otherwise could easily be overlooked”.

Judging of the event will be undertaken by representatives from the Sleaford and District Civic Trust, artsNK and Carre Gallery with winners to be announced at the end of the month.

Winning images will be posted on this blog when the results are announced.

The exhibition is open from 10 am – 4 pm every day (except Sunday) and runs until Saturday 30th.
