For a hanging fee of £5 per artwork artists can submit up to three pieces to our ‘pool’ of work which we will display in mixed exhibitions.  Work must be for sale and the gallery commission is 25% of the sale price.  You can remove your work at any time and can replace with new work for an additional hanging fee.  Drop off your work at any time with your hanging fee and information about the  work – artist’s name, title of work, media and price.  We’ll do the rest.

You are invited to submit work for the Carre Gallery Summer Open Exhibition in association with Lincolnshire Pride Magazine.

The Summer Open will run for four weeks from Monday 10 July until Saturday 05 August inclusive. There will be a preview evening on Thursday 13 July between 6 pm and 7.30 pm with a presentation at about 6.30 pm. All artists submitting work are invited to attend.

You can submit two-dimensional and three-dimensional artwork in any media with any subject matter. There is no limit to the number of pieces that each artist may submit.

Selected artwork will form the Summer Open Exhibition with prizes awarded in three categories. Lincolnshire Pride Magazine will run a magazine feature of the artist awarded ‘Best in Show’. Other prizes will be awarded for Directors’ Choice and the Carre Gallery Award.

Furthermore, visitors to the exhibition will be invited to vote for the ‘People’s Choice’ which will be announced at the close of the exhibition.

The submission deadline is Saturday 08 July 2017 but to keep our admin workload to a minimum (we are all unpaid volunteers) we ask you to complete and return the entry form as soon as possible. Your artwork can be delivered closer to the deadline.

Hidden in Plain Sight

Hosted by Sleaford Civic Trust working with Sleaford Gallery Arts trust, this photography competition will culminate in photographic exhibition at Carre Gallery.  The theme is straightforward: take a photograph that highlights a part of Sleaford – a building, a structure or an aspect of everyday life – that goes unnoticed by the casual observer.

Brief details:

  • Take a photograph which highlights a part of Sleaford ‘hidden in plain sight’.
  • Either send a print or email a jpeg to the address provided.
  • Selected images will be displayed in a two-week exhibition at Carre Gallery Sleaford with prizes given for best in show.
  • Printing and mounting for exhibition will be undertaken by Sleaford and District Civil Trust.
  • Three age groups: under 13, under 18, and over 18.
  • Entries to be received no later than 25 April.

Carre Gallery, 29 Carre Street, Sleaford, Lincolnshire.

Now in its fifth year the Carre Gallery Winter Art Fair returns. Designed to stimulate sales, the sale price of all items will be £100 maximum. We would also like to see small items such as cards, gift tags, decorations, stocking-fillers etc.

(If you are an artist who creates work of higher value than this limit then consider hiring the gallery for your own exhibition, solo or with other artists; check our website or email for more information – details below.)

Dates:

The Carre Gallery Winter Art Fair will open on Monday 07 December 2015 and run until Sat 09 January 2016.

For the Christmas break the gallery will be closed from Thursday 24 December 2015 until Sunday 03 January 2016 inclusive. During this period we will leave all work on display (with lights on each evening) to promote your work.

The Gallery will be open again on Monday 04 January 2016 and your work will be available for sale for any post-Christmas sales until Saturday 09 January.

Work for exhibition:

You may submit any number of pieces for consideration.

Work should be well-presented and framed with a sale price of £100 or less.

Prints or originals are accepted. Small 3D objects will be accepted and larger pieces by prior agreement (we have limited space).

Work previously exhibited will be accepted but please make a realistic assessment of its saleability; this is an art fair rather than an art exhibition and we want to encourage sales.

Hanging fees:

Artwork priced £50 to £100:           hanging fee: £5 per piece

Artwork priced at less than £50:   hanging fee: £3 per piece

Carre Gallery Commission will be 25% of sale price (with hanging fee waived on sales).

Other Work:

If you have a selection of mounted but unframed prints we can display those on a commission-only basis (no exhibitor fee) with a commission of 30%.

We will sell greetings cards, gift tags, and decorations etc on a commission-only basis of 30%.

SLEAFORD LIVE EXHIBITION 2015

All Lincolnshire Artists are invited to submit work for this year’s exhibition coordinated for Sleaford Live Week.

This year’s theme of ‘Abstract Art’ has been inspired by the remarkable record set at Sotheby’s February auction when an abstract painting by Gerhard Richter achieved a price of £30,400,000 (that’s right, over 30 million pounds!). This was a world record for any painting by a living European artist. The canvas titled ‘Abstraktes Bild’ measured 9ft10in x 8ft2in and was painted in 1986.

Our Abstract Art Exhibition will run for two weeks from Mon 27 April until Sat 09 May.

Once the exhibition is in place the Sleaford Hub Writers will create individual stories and poems for the exhibits, and these will be displayed with the artwork during Sleaford Live week, which starts on Fri 01 May.

Dates:

  • Please return the completed application form as soon as possible to allow gallery staff to arrange the exhibition layout.
  • Artwork and display material to be delivered up to Sat 25 April
  • Exhibition runs from Monday 27 April through to Saturday 09 May.
  • Unsold work to be picked up by Wed 13 May.

Staffing:

  • Gallery Volunteers will invigilate throughout the week.

Artwork:

  • Work in any media under the theme ‘Abstract Art’. Please do not submit work that has been exhibited in previous Sleaford Live exhibitions.

Prose:

  • At the end of the first week a booklet of simple stories and poems will be displayed with the art. The text will be provided by The Sleaford Hub Writers based on each individual piece.

Hanging fees:

  • The hanging fee for paintings is £5 each. Commission on sales will be charged at 25%

Promotion:

  • Invitations will be printed and distributed (or emailed where possible) by The Sleaford Gallery Arts Trust to members and associates of the Sleaford Hub Writers and to supporters of Carre Gallery.
  • Details of the event will be included in the Sleaford Live printed programme and posters will be printed by Carrre Gallery and displayed where possible.
  • Details of the event will be released to the local press for publication.
  • Details of the event will be displayed on the Carre Gallery website and blog.

Private View.

  • A private view is planned for Thursday 30 April between 6 pm and 8 pm. All artists and writers are invited.

Payment:

  • Please make cheques payable to Sleaford Gallery Arts Trust Ltd. Payment in cash accepted at the gallery.
  • Any commissions due will be deducted from payments made by purchasers.

How does it work?

• Artists submit up to three individual works of art (2D or small 3D pieces), which are added to our pool of work.

• We accept a maximum of three pieces at any one time.

• All work must be for sale.

• We undertake to display your work for a minimum of 14 days in mixed exhibitions (usually, but not necessarily in one continuous run).

• We charge a hanging fee of £5 per piece.

• You can remove your work at any time.

• Once the work has been displayed you will be contacted to arrange collection of unsold pieces.

• Work to be labelled with artist’s name, title, media and price.

• You can replace your work with new pieces at any time subject to a further hanging fee.

• Carre Gallery charges commission of 25% of the sale price.

Bring your work in, fill in your form (available at the desk) and pay your fee. We’ll do the rest.

SLEAFORD ART EVENT MOVES TO CARRE GALLERY – 31 MAR – 12 APR

Press release on behalf of Sleaford Art Event 2014

The organisers of the 2014 Sleaford Art Event taking place on 31st March to 12th April 2014 are busy preparing for an exciting two weeks

The annual event comprises an art exhibition of over 50 pieces by artists from across Lincolnshire and further afield.

The event is being held for the first time at The Carre Gallery in Carre Street, Sleaford from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm each day.

A prize and trophy will also be presented for the overall Best in Show, as voted for by the visitors. Come along and cast your vote!!!

The Art Event Challenge which takes place on Saturday 5th April has already attracted a number of entries. Artists will have the chance to interpret a set piece in competition with each other. . The results of the competing artists’ efforts will be on display and voted for by visitors to the show, with a prize and trophy presented to the winning artist at the end of the event.

Come visit us, support the wonderful talented artists, cast your vote and enter our raffle.

‘New Year – New Work’ is now securely fixed into Carre Gallery’s schedule as a four-week show of new work or work previously not exhibited.

Carre Gallery Winter Art Fair 2013

Carre gallery is staging another Winter Art Fair for the third year running. The last two years have been very successful with good sales. We are keeping the same format, designed to stimulate sales as well as admiring stares, and we are capping the sale price of all items to £100. We would also like to see small items such as cards, gift tags, decorations, stocking-fillers etc.

This is how it will work:

The Carre Gallery Winter Fair will open on Sunday 01 December 2013 and run until Sat 04 January 2014. We are opening on Sunday to coincide with the Sleaford Christmas Market.

Lincolnshire Community and Life Exhibition sponsored by Escritt Barrell Golding.

You are invited to submit entries for a forthcoming Lincolnshire Community and Life Exhibition now in its third year.

As usual we are looking for images which show people at work, rest or play – working in shops, offices or in the open air; resting at home or on holiday; playing sport or indulging in a favourite hobby; individuals or groups, details or vistas. Submitted work can be any form of two-dimensional art illustrating or promoting Lincolnshire community and life.

You may submit up to three pieces of artwork.

The entry fee is £5 per artwork.

LINCOLNSHIRE COMMUNITY AND LIFE EXHIBITION

All artists are invited to submit entries for this year’s Lincolnshire Community and Life Exhibition sponsored by McKinnells Solicitors.  After last year’s success the exhibition returns as a two-week event.

Your work should be any form of two-dimensional art illustrating or promoting Lincolnshire community and life.  We are looking for images which show people at work, rest or play – working in shops, offices or in the open air; resting at home or on holiday; playing sport or indulging in a favourite hobby; individuals or groups, details or vistas.

  • Chosen artwork will be exhibited in the Lincolnshire Community and Life Exhibition from Monday 01 October until Saturday 13 October.
  • Entrants may submit up to three pieces of artwork in any medium.
  • The closing date for submissions is 22 September 2012.
  • The entry fee is £10 per artwork.
  • Previous exhibitors at Carre Gallery will have their entry fee paid for by our sponsor –  McKinnells Solicitors.

MIXED EXHIBITIONS ARE BACK!!

Between artist exhibitions and gallery shows we host mixed exhibitions which allow artists to exhibit individual pieces of work in a professional gallery setting while they are creating work for their major exhibitions.  It also gives new artists the opportunity to exhibit for the first time.

How does it work?

  • Artists submit up to three individual works of art (2D or small 3D pieces) which are added to our pool of work.
  • We accept a maximum of three pieces at any one time.
  • All work must be for sale.
  • We undertake to display your work for a minimum of 14 days in mixed exhibitions (not necessarily in one continuous run).
  • We charge a hanging fee of £5 per piece.
  • You can remove your work at any time.
  • Once the work has been displayed you will be contacted to arrange collection of unsold pieces.
  • Work to be labelled with artist’s name, title, media and price.
  • You can replace your work with new pieces at any time subject to a further hanging fee.
  • Carre Gallery charges commission of 25% of the sale price.

Bring your work in, fill in your form (available at the desk) and pay your fee.  We’ll do the rest.

NB: The next mixed exhibition will open on 06 Feb 2012 – so if you deliver your work by Saturday 04 Feb your work should be included.

CARRE GALLERY CHRISTMAS CLOSING

Carre Gallery will close at 4 pm on Sat 24 Dec 2011 and reopen on Tue 03 Jan 2011.

CARRE GALLERY JUNIOR SPORT PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION

Sponsored by Hodgson Elkington LLP – Chartered Surveyors
The competition is open to adult and junior entrants.
Junior (under 18) entrants should confirm their age.
Prizes and awards will be given in three categories.
Your photograph(s) should illustrate junior sporting activity in Lincolnshire or east Nottinghamshire. We are looking for images that show individuals and teams engaged in junior sporting activities, together with more creative photographs of equipment, awards or venues. Anything which illustrates sporting talent, activity or equipment to advantage.
Chosen photographs will be exhibited in the Junior Sports Programme Photography Competition from Monday 31 October to Saturday 5 November.
